My Summer Workout Routine


Hey everyone! Today I am going to be sharing my workout routine for summer! Summer is one of my favorite seasons regarding exercise because there are so many different options! I am going to take you step by step through my everyday routine and some of the different exercises I do to stay fit!


  1. Drink water! I always make sure to drink a glass of water right away in the morning. This helps me wake up and stay hydrated for my workout.
  2. Run! Running in the morning is a great way to start the day! I always try to run right away in the morning. I find that it really helps me to wake up and get my head clear. I try to run 5-6 days a week and a total of at least 10 miles every week. I love to switch up my running. Some days I will run hills, sprints, or intervals, but nothing beats going out on a long run.
  3. Strength & Body Weight Exercises! For me, strength is really important so I try to get some strength training in every day. I really like to have a good balance in my workouts and switch up whether I use weights or just body weight. Depending on the day I will do 10-30 minutes of strength training. Each day I try to focus on a specific area of my body and work those muscles, but 2-3 days a week I will do whole body workout.
  4. Abdominal Workouts! I definitely have days where I am just too busy, sick, or tired to get in a good, long workout, but I always make sure to get some ab work in everyday. I think ab and core exercises are definitely my favorite and I never mind doing a good ten minute circuit before bed. I will include some of my favorite workouts in this post!
  5. Yoga & Stretching! I have been involved in gymnastics my entire life so stretching and staying flexible is very important to me. I also believe stretching is important for ones well being. It is an easy way to cool down and relax. I try to stretch for 5-15 minutes every day!


Sworkit is a great app for staying in shape! It is super simple to use and has great workouts. I incorporate the Sworkit app into my workouts almost every day! It has four different categories; strength, cardio, yoga, and stretching.


I love using the timed strength workouts for my day to day training! All you do is select the category, the body area you want to focus on, and the amount of time you want to train for and it generates a great circuit with 30 second intervals.

Nike+ Run Club

I have used countless running apps, but none of them clicked with me the way Nike+ Run Club has. I absolutely love this app! It is easy to use, functional, and has great motivation to keep you running!

The thing I love most about the Nike+ Run Club is that it has so many different running options! I typically use the basic run feature which tracks your time, speed, and distance.

The other thing I really love about this app is the motivation/incentives. The more you run the more achievements and milestones you unlock. Every time I go on a run I try to unlock a new achievement! It makes running more fun and enjoyable!

  • 20 crunches
  • 30 vertical leg crunches
  • 5 leg raises
  • 30 Russian twists
  • :30 plank
  • :30 side plank (each side)
  • 20 mountain climbers
  • 10 leg climb crunches (each side)

  • 10 oblique (side) crunches (each side)
